My new Hair! Purple Ombré!

Hello everyone!

I had my hair done!!

I really like it, it's different to anything I've had before so it's the change I needed. It's not the exact colour I wanted, I asked for pastel purple but she said it'd fade to that colour so it's like this for now :)

What do you think?

What's in my everyday makeup bag?

Hello Everyone!

Since I've just bought a new makeup bag for my 'everyday' makeup I thought I'd show you the things I've decided to put in it!

I bought this bag from Primark, it's perfect for makeup as it's fabric on the outside but lined on the inside so if anything spills out you can just wipe it down. An absolute bargain in my eyes for £3.

You'll probably have seen a lot of these products already if you have read any of my posts, I hope this entertains you nonetheless :)

Accessorise Blush in shade 5 Sensation

Eyebrows

Eyebrow Brush from Boots

ILAH Angled Eyebrow Brush

MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara in black. Click HERE for a review!
MaxFactor Xperience Volumising Mascara in black.
M.A.C Eye Kohl in Smoulder.
Barry M Eyeliner in black.
I love this eyeliner, it glides on so smoothly, it's brilliant and it's absolutely black, I only wish it wasn't waterproof because it clings around the lashes and skin under your eyes. Other than that, a really good eyeliner and I think it's around £2.99 at Boots.

Eyeshadow

Urban Decay Ammo 2!
I love this palette! I always use Polyseter Bride on my inner corner without fail, I also love Maui-Wowie and Mildew! Really good quality, plenty of colour variation to create lots of different looks. Really good palette in my opinion.

Thats everything in my 'Everyday makeup bag'! I have a lot more makeup collected in bags upon bags but these are my 'go to' everyday items.

What's in your everyday makeup bag?

Thanks for reading!

Very Casual OOTD! 27/6/13

Hey everyone!

Just a quick OOTD post for you here, it's just something casual and comfy which I threw on to run a few errands! :) I'll link things where I can. I'll have a 'Going Out' OOTD coming this weekend too so that'll be a bit more glam :D

I'm wearing a top I bought in the H&M sale, you can see it in THIS post.
I also have on some 'wet look' leggings I bought from Missguided.co.uk, you can see them HERE.
I also have on my Urban Outfitter's hoodie which Tom kindly bought for me, you can see it in THIS post on online HERE.
I also have on my Nike Blazers, I've been wearing them a lot recently!

On my face, I'm wearing:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation which I applied using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I must say I enjoyed this foundation much more when applied with a brush, you can buff it out so it doesn't look as dark and patchy; I'm very happy with it. I'll write a more in depth review soon!
I have on my normal Collection Concealer and Rimmel Stay Matte.
I'm wearing my MaxFactor bronzer, you can see that online HERE.
My normal ILAH brow powder.
L'Oreal SuperLiner
MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara.
Accessorise Blush in shade 5 Sensation.
And a teeny tiny Urban Decay lipgloss which came with the Naked 2 Palette.

And I'm now sat blogging in my PJs ;D

Just a quick note I went in a booked my hair! I'm having it done this Saturday, I'm having a full head of blonde highlights which is what I usually have then I'm having the lilac pastel colour put in through the ends too. I'm very nervous about getting it done now it's all booked in but I still really want it done.

My hair dresser said it fades very quick and is difficult to get out which put me off and I almost said I'd just have my normal blonde. But I'm SO bored of my hair, I've had it like this for about 5 years now and I need a change.

Last time I did something different with it I hated it but I think that was because I had it cut from around the length it is now to my shoulders *shudder*. That was not for me. Hopefully I'll like it this time, I just can't wait to go and have it done, I hope I don't bottle out!

Also, I don't know what to do about my scaffolding piercing. At the moment I'm thinking about taking it out while I have it done because last time I had my hair done (at a different hair dressers) she absolutely butchered it through hitting it with the brush and things like that. It was so painful and it hasn't properly healed since. I don't know what to do for the best. Nervous!

Anyway, thanks for reading, and if anyone has any tips on how to maintain lilac ombre hair they'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

P.S. Just reread this and that 'quick note' wasn't so quick was it? hahaha.

Haul! Boots, Urban Outfitters, Primark and Homesense!

Helloooo everybody!

Today's post is going to be a haul! Yayyy :)

As you may know if you read my previous post, some shopping happened yesterday when Tom and I went to Manchester so I'm going to show you what I bought.

I know I seem to write quite a few haul posts, the reason being is that if I don't post about them relatively soon after buying them I totally forget to write about them all together. I did consider saving things and writing less but bigger haul posts but I don't think that set up would really work for me! So I hope you enjoy the frequent haul posts haha. Let me know!

Moving on...

First, Urban Outfitters, Tom kindly bought me this really nice, green hoodie. I used to have a blue hoodie but my sister decided she could take it upon herself to wear it once and never give it back! So I saw this one in the sale and thought it'd be nice for just throwing on throughout summer if we go somewhere but I don't want to take a jacket, that kinda thing. It's sooo comfy and looks really cool. I got it in a size M so it's quite oversized but I like it that way :) They also had the same style in blue and red.

The hoodie was £14 in the sale reduced from £39 and I also got student discount so it actually cost£12.60 :)

You can see it HERE if you want to take a look :)
It's showing up at £15 online but in the store it was £14, weird!

Next I picked up a couple of things from Boots one of which I've had my eye on for AGES!

Firstly, I'll quickly mention the MaxFactor CC Cream. I asked the lady at the counter if MaxFactor had discontinued my FAVOURITE foundation in the world ever, the Weightless Foundation. It's the perfect shade for my pale skin and I was so upset that I could find it no longer.

Alas! The lady said it had been repackaged and renamed as the CC Cream. I don't really get this because the old packaging just represented it as a foundation whereas this new packaging says it's a Colour Correcting cream yet she said that they were the exact same thing?! I don't get it, have they just decided it's a CC cream or have they tweaked it a bit?

Anyway, I'm going to try it and I'll let you know if I think it's changed in any way :)

Secondly from Boots I FINALLY took the plunge and bought an actual foundation brush! I've been eyeing these Real Technique brushes for so long, I've dragged Tom around the brush isle millions of times, stood there for a good 10-15 minutes deciding which would be best to buy and then leaving with none.

I just find it so difficult to part with £10 for a brush!

I know they're very reasonably priced for makeup brushes, I just don't know why I have that problem because I can part with £10 quite easily for a foundation. I think it has something to do with the fact that with my foundation I know what I'm getting, with the makeup brushes I wasn't sure which one I wanted, whether I'd use it, whether to get the core collection or just a single, am I picking up the right one?!?!

After careful consideration, I just went for the Expert Face Brush, I've heard it's great for liquid foundation and gives a medium-full coverage which is what I like so I'm happy I picked this one up and I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on with it! Very exciting!

The brush is £9.99 and you can see it HERE.

I managed to drag Tom in to the Manchester Primark muahaha. He hates the place and to be honest, so do I. It gets ridiculously busy and it's just too crazy for both our likings. But we decided it was a week day, there's no better time to tackle Primark than a weekday (weekends are hectic) so we'd just run in buy what I wanted and get out.

I'd already seen what I wanted so, you know, it worked out well.

I picked up this nifty little makeup bag, well you can use it for anything you want but they're my intensions, it has a cool aztec design all over it, it's fabric and a good size to hold my everyday makeup! I like it very much! :) I'll probably write a 'what's in my everyday makeup' post when I've got it sorted if that's something you'd be interested in?

You can buy this little number for a bargainous £3 :)

Lastly, we went into the new Homesense store which recently opened in the Arndale, has anyone else visited there yet? I really liked it, I saw a few things I'd have liked to buy if I had an endless pot of monies........

I have serious troubles when it comes to resisting something sparkly that I can put a candle in and if it's green too; game overrrrrrr.

Anyway, I resisted, Tom pushed me away, and I ended up just buying this room spray affair (could have just bought a normal air freshener, I know, but this looks pretty and matches my room!). It smells really nice and refreshing, they had about 4 different scents and I think it'll be handy to have in the morning when I need to just freshen the room up! :)

This cost £2.99 :)

So I hope you enjoyed reading this! I doubt you'll see another haul for about a week or so now because I'm hoping to get my hair done (yay lilac ombre!) before/on this Saturday (29th) for my night out which will set me back about £60 wah!

However, I do have a few things I'm waiting for in the post, my ROMWE top, a H&M order and a new bar for my scaffolding piercing so they'll be up when they arrive!

Have a nice day!

Wednesday - OOTD, Makeup of the Day & Shopping!

Hello everyone!

Today Tom and I went to Manchester to do some shopping, he wanted to exchange some Vans for a different colour and I just went along so I thought I'd show you my OOTD and Makeup using the NYC Duo I bought at Poundland that I mentioned in THIS review post. Hope you enjoy!

Since I organised my wardrobe from top to bottom yesterday I found some cool jodhpurs that I used to wear when I went through a horse-riding phase lol. I've seen a few people wearing them just as a fashion kind of thing and they're not anything crazy, they just look like nude coloured leggings so I decided to give them a whirl.

I also wore a simple t-shirt I bought in the Dorothy Perkins sale last week some time.

On my feet I just have my black Blazers!

Accessory wise I just wore my Pandora, a set I bought in Greece and another bracelet I found chilling in my room!

The makeup I have on today is just my normal everyday makeup:

MaxFactor's Weightless Foundation (which has NOT been discontinued, woo! Just re packaged as a CC cream. I'm going to let you all know if it really is the same thing soon!)
Collection Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte
The Poundland bronzer I mentioned in my previous post
Collection Lip Stain in Pout

On my eyes I used the light 'highlight' colour on my lid and the 'contour' colour in my crease. I really like this duo, I didn't use the brush provided, I used one of my own and the colour pay off was okay, not brilliant and I found that with the light colour I had to go over it a few times for it to show up but when I'd finished with them I was happy with the result!

I also have Urban Decay's Sin as my brow highlight :)

Whilst in Manchester we got some dinner at the noodle place in the Arndale food court, I got NOODLES!

We went around a few shops including the new Homesense store which opened in the Arndale, has anyone else been there yet? They had some pretty cool things in there and I'm weak when it comes to anything shiny that I can put a candle in :( Regardless, I didn't pick up any ornaments, I pulled myself together, but I did pick up a room spray.

Next we decided to check out the Urban Outfitters Sale, I usually avoid this shop because it's waaaay above my price range yet everything's so pretty in there! :( Boo!

They have a huge wall of vinyl records in there which looks pretty cool and I found one with a banana on the front haha anyone watch Grav3yard Girl's videos?

After we'd finished shopping it was home time and I let Hector come and chill upstairs, doesn't he look pretty in the bowl?!

I think I'm going up to my local hair dressers tomorrow to enquire about the purple hair situation, I'm getting really excited to have it done now and I think Tom likes the idea too! So I'll let you know how that goes!

So yeah, that's what I got up to today! You'll probably see a small haul around here either later on tonight or tomorrow so you can look forward to that if you enjoy reading them!

What have you been up to today?
Thanks for reading!

Poundland Makeup, Yay or Nay? and Get Ready With Me!

Hey everyone!

As promised I have here for you some product reviews on some items I picked up in Poundland.

I didn't know what to expect from these cosmetics, as I mentioned in the haul post, I was happy that they all came in sealed packages so I was assured they hadn't been tampered with.

So this is kind of a 'Get ready with me' style post with step-by-step pictures (please don't mind my naked face and pulled back hair, that's just how I do my makeup!), I've gone about my normal routine just switching up a few products as I go along! Reviews will all be at the end so just skip there if that's all you want to see :) Hope you enjoy!

Reviews

Bronzer:

I would give this bronzer a 3 out of 5. It's definitely not the most luxurious of bronzers but I never expected it to be, after all it only cost £1. It's a pretty decent colour, from what I could see they only had the one shade and it is quite dark, it definitely has the potential to look orange if you piled it on but with a light hand and plenty of blending you can definitely work with it.

On the negative side, I found it to be very dusty, for example when I tapped my brush into it a lot of product kind of flaked away if that makes sense. Basically there's a lot of fall out and wasted product whilst using this item. Also, the packaging feels very cheap and easily breakable. I would be a bit dubious about carrying this around loose in my bag because if this bad boy opened; game over. Again though, I'm just picking here, you can't expect much from something that only cost a pound.

I know from the picture above you can't really tell the difference between my foundationed face and my bronzed face, the lighting wasn't on my side, however it does warm your face up nicely and naturally if you use it sparingly.

I'm pleased that I picked this product up. I think I'll definitely get some more use out of it. It's not the best bronzer I've ever used but it's pretty good value for money, it does what a bronzer is supposed to do. It's just a shame that I couldn't find any colour variations and the amount of fall out.

Would I recommend this product? yes.
Would I repurchase this product? yes.

Eyeshadow Palette:

I'd give this palette a 3.5 out of 5. I really wanted to love this palette, the colours in it look gorgeous, it's small and compact with great variety and it just looks like a nice, everyday, wearable palette and to tell you the truth, I actually do really like it. This is my favourite of the 3 items I'm reviewing here, I have a feeling I'll get a massive amount of use out of it and I definitely saw more colour varieties which I might have to go back for...

Similarly to the bronzer, there is a pretty decent amount of fall out with these shadows too, not as much as the bronzer but definitely enough to ruin some face makeup if you're not careful with the darker shades. Weirdly, when I first dipped the brush in I thought they were cream shadows because the consistency is so unusual, so much product clings to the brush it's unbelievable. Having said that, the pigment is extremely good in these shadows, I used the first pale green colour over my lid and it came off so well, I was really impressed. I also used the middle bronze colour on the left in my crease, I was happy with the result, what do you think?

Overall, I think this palette is excellent value for money. Again it was only £1 and for those of you who want to play about with some colour but not spend a fortune this would be great, also if you're just starting out with makeup and want to get some variety or a collection going this would be a great, inexpensive step in the right direction in my opinion.

Also, a little tip with this palette, it does come with a double ended sponge applicator thing but this works a million times better if you use a half decent eyeshadow brush. I just used the small one from my Ammo 2 palette.

Would I recommend this product? yes!
Would I repurchase this product? yes! I'd like to buy more colours :)

Eyeliner:

I'd give this eyeliner a 3 out of 5. Surprisingly I quite enjoyed using this eyeliner. I was expecting it to be really hard and really having to drag it along the waterline to get anything off but that wasn't the case.

Honestly, I have a MAC eye kohl in Smoulder and for me, this eyeliner works better than that. It's much more pigmented and stays on a lot longer. It doesn't glide on like, for example, the Barry M eyeliner does but it's fairly easy application. There's not much more to say about it really, it's a very dark black colour, it has pretty good staying power for something you put on your waterline and it's easy to apply. Also, in the packet, you get 2 eyeliners and a sharpener so that's a bonus.

I'm not sure if I'll get as much use out of the eyeliners as I will the eyeshadows only because I have other eyeliners which I use daily and do prefer. However, I'm glad I have them as a fall back and there is certainly nothing wrong with them!

Would I recommend this product? yes.
Would I repurchase this product? no, only because I don't need them.

I also have two more things which I didn't mention in this post which are the NYC Duo so I'll do a quick post on that soon letting you know what I think and the microwave rollers which I haven't used yet!

I don't want to be responsible for any upset people if you go away and buy these items and don't really like them. I just tried to use the product with an open mind, I wasn't expecting miracles and honestly you don't get miracles, they do their job and they look good.

Nonetheless, I hope this post has been useful to some of you and maybe I've inspired you to go and have a look at some Poundland makeup, let me know in the comments if you do go and pick something up, I'd be so interested!

Thanks for reading this post! And if you read it all well done! It's such a long post haha!

See you next time!

Productive Tuesday!

Hello everyone!

As you may have noticed from the title, today has been an extremely productive day for me! I woke up at 10ishAM, put on my makeup using the Poundland makeup I bought and said I'd review for you in THIS post so you'll see that up probably tomorrow.

After I'd made myself up, I decided to repaint the green wall in my bedroom. I have 2 walls wallpapered, 1 wall painted and the other wall is consumed with floor to ceiling built in wardrobes so you don't see that one. So basically I have have 1 wall to paint. I had half a tin of paint left over from last time I painted it which was a year ago and through burning candles and things like that the wall wasn't very clean any more and needed freshening up. It took me around an hour and a half to paint and it looks miles better and it cost me nothing!

After that I was starving so I decided to try one of the Bachelor's pot noodle kinda things. It was alright, a bit meh, you don't really get much in the pot and I've come to the conclusion that I definitely prefer normal Pot Noodles!

Next, I put fresh sheets on my bed, it didn't really need it as I only changed them two days ago, but I was in full-on clean mode so I did it anyway. Currently looking forward to fresh bedding tonight :D

After that I brought all my furniture back in my room, hoovered and polished all the sides down including my piano which never gets cleaned, tramp.

What do you think? I totally forgot to take 'before' pics :(

And then my last but pretty large task was to organise my wardrobe. I say my 'wardrobe' but really I mean: floordrobe, back-of-the-door-drobe, on-top-of-piano-drobe, wherever-it-lands-drobe. Honestly, clothes in my room don't have one single home, they live where they want to. But not any more!

I hung up a load of tops from my holiday which I'd just folded and put at the bottom of the wardrobe, this way I might actually get some use out of them. I also reorganised the pile of clothes that do actually chill at the bottom of my wardrobe by putting the ones I most commonly wear at the top. Also I had a bunch of 'going out' dresses hanging on the back of my door which are now all stored in my wardrobe! And bags which were hung up on the door also have a new home. I'm so very pleased with myself! I absolutely HATE putting clothes away and I'm naturally a relatively tidy person but putting clothes away is definitely my downfall, ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

And lastly I have made a hairy decision. I'm going to grab the dog by its balls and dip dye my hair lavender.

GAH!

No, I am actually going to do it. I've wanted it for ages and today I just thought 'you know what? I'm just gonna do it', I can afford to lose a few inches off my hair if I don't like it anyway. I'm going to go to my hairdressers and tell her exactly how I want it, taking in visual representations. My hair is blonde so I'm planning on keeping it blonde about 3/4 of the way down then makng the last 1/4 the actual lavender colour. I am very excited about this! Let me know if you've dip dyed your hair and how you maintain it, for example, does the colour stay in for a decent amount of time? How easy is it to dye it back to your normal colour if you don't like it? I'd appreciate any responses/suggestions! :)

Whilst deciding that I was going to pursue the purple hair dream, I thought it'd only be fitting to paint my nails purple :D So using a pastel purple colour I got in a set a while back from Claire's and Maybelline's Top Coat I did just that. May I add how ridiculously difficult it is to get the Barry M Nail Confetti I reviewed HERE off your nails. Had to whip out the glitter trick:

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that weird ramble ramble post (my friend has a cat called ramble hah), I hope you're all having / have had a wonderful day and I shall see you next tomorrow!

Sicilian Lemon Yankee Candle

Hey everyone,

Different kind of post here for you, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it so I'm telling you guys about it!

I've recently been burning this Yankee Candle in Sicilian Lemon and it is so beautiful, it smells citrusy and zesty and summery, such a nice scent to have wafting around a room during the warm months. I't not a thick scent like some of the holiday or seasonal scents are if you get what I mean? You can definitely smell it but it's not over powering.

I also have the wax tart of this scent and many others, I'm thinking of doing a collection, and they do give off a very powerful scent. When I have one burning upstairs you can smell it all around the house so make sure you pick one you know you'll like haha.

Anyway, I just thought I'd show you this just incase it interests anyone, it certainly interests me. It smells gorgeous! If you enjoy the citrus, fruity kind of scents definitely try 'Fruit Fusion', Tom bought it for me for Christmas and I loved it!

This particular candle I bought off eBay for £15 which isn't too bad for a large jar but still extortionate for a candle. The things we spend money on...

Let me know of any candle recommendations you have :)

Currently about to commence with repainting my green wall .. should be interesting!
