China Glaze Haul!

Hello everyone!

I've been on an online shopping rampage recently and this is the first package to arrive. I was browsing on Nail Polish Direct and inevitably found something I wanted to order. Well, I don't like ordering just one thing so I bought three....

Nail Polish Direct never fail to let me down, you can buy from really nice brands at a discounted price and get free delivery... it's just awesome.

The shades I bought this time are, Wanderlust, Prism and Heat Index. I'm currently wearing Wanderlust and I love the colour, review coming soon!

These polishes are all around £3.50 each and they always have the newest collections, you just have to get in there fast to order yourself one.

What's your favourite China Glaze polish?
Which shade would you like me to review first?

See you next time,

Beauty Haul :)

Hello everyone!

Over the weekend my sister and I went into Manchester, originally to go to the pictures, but we wound up prowling the isles of Superdrug instead. I bought a few bits and pieces which I thought I'd show you today.

First we went into Lush to see the Valentines Day collection and I bought three new bath products. From the Valentines range, I picked up Unicorn Horn which is a bath melt... how can you resist this? It's multi coloured, very shimmery and smells lovely. I also picked up The Comforter which I've wanted to pick up for ages as it smells like the Sweetie Pie shower jelly. And I picked up Twilight because I liked the moon and stars printed on it.... it also smells like coffee (to me).

The Manchester Superdrug has finally got a Revolution stand so I picked up the Romantic Smoked palette, I think these are such good value for money and I bought a Vivid blush which I'm excited to try. I always see things I want from Revolution then forget everything when I see a stand.

I also bought the new Maybelline Sensational mascara because I needed a new one and I don't often buy things from Maybelline. I've been using it the last few days and I like it so far.

I can't believe I actually purchased some new brushes. My sister despairs when I eye these up every single time we go in a makeup shop and I never buy them. However, Superdrug had them on buy one get one half price which is the only offer I've ever seen them on and they aren't on offer regularly so I snapped up the two I wanted the most. These are the powder and blush brush.

And that's everything I bought on that little shopping expedition. You can look forward to some reviews soon!

OOTD: Weekly Work Wear | 18-23 Jan

Hello everyone!

Another week... gone. Time really does fly. So this week I was pretty pleased with finding three different outfits to show you for work... only to realise the first one is duplicated from last week. I've decided that my hair is different and I don't have a scarf on so it's justified? (I just didn't want to edit the photo again lol).

I'm hoping to find some new work shoes this weekend because these ones are getting slightly tatty and my feet just freeze in them so maybe next week there will be some shoe variation! Anyway, let's crack on....

Photo One
Top: Primark
Pants: Primark
Shoes; London Rebel

Photo Two
Dress: Boohoo.com
Tights: Primark
Boots: Sainsbury's

Photo Three
Top: New Look
Pants: Primark
(These are black and white check although it's difficult to tell)
Shoes: London Rebel

I'm thinking that these work wear posts might work better on a bi-weekly basis? Just so there's more content to them? Or maybe adding a makeup picture for everyday too? I haven't quite decided yet. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Primarni Haulin'

Hello everyone!

I feel like I haven't written a haul post in ages. I've bought quite a lot of things lately but I'm still waiting on them all from the post man... However yesterday, my Mum and I took ourselves into town for a mooch around Primark and some dinner and I bought some actual, non cyber-related, items.

First, can we just appreciate this blazer for a second? It was in the sale for only £10.00, there were only about 5 left, and I just can't believe that I found such a bargain. I'll wear this for work and normal life with jeans. It'll be awesome. Very excited about this.

Next I picked up some socks because someone eats socks in my house, I'm sure of it. I bought black ones for work with colourful bits (so I know which ones are mine in the wash) and I bought some pretty floral ones for everyday life.
Socks <3

I am always besotted by the cute and girly things Primark sell in their Home section but I usually pass because you can soon have too much decorative cluster in one room, right?

I saw these few bits and pieces though, looked at the prices, and decided they must come home with me. So I picked up this trio of cushion-y love hearts (£2.50) which I've hung on my wardrobe and draw knobs...

...This love heart dangly thing (£2.00) which surprisingly feels quite heavy and expensive. The hearts make a really satisfying noise when they bang together. Not too dissimilar from when two snooker balls hit each other. Strange, I know. Also, shout out to the tall guy who helped us reach this down from the top shelf...

...And finally this shiny silver tea light holder (£1.50) which finishes off my candle display just nicely.

Last but not least, are the items I went to Primark for in the first place. I desperately needed a new dressing gown because the one I used is about 10 years old and looked filthy even when washed. I settled on a white and blue star pattern (£10.00) and I saw some cheap slippers for £3.00 which I couldn't resist either. Because I'm naughty.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post,
If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I shall reply!

Thoughts of the day
  • Sorry that the lighting is shocking in these pictures. I get home from work and by time I've got sorted it's already dark... but I really wanted this post to go up today.
  • Anyone been watching the second series of Broardchurch? I really, really love it. It's made me totally understand the David Tennant obsession that everyone seems to have.
  • I spied some new MaxFactor blushes in Superdrug yesterday and they were £6.99 on promotional offer and I really want some. They will be £9.99 full price which I can't help but think is a bit pricy. Has anyone tried them yet?

Night On The Town

Hello everyone!

Today I thought I'd show you what I wore on my last night out. I was really pleased with the way the look turned out because I took minimal makeup with me to get ready, I just thought I'd whip on the eyeliner and be ready to go, right?

I also bought the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette whilst I was out shopping despite walking around all day saying I didn't like it because it's too pink toned... I swatched some shades and accidentally fell in love.

Here's the look:

I think the lipstick really pulled everything together and made what would have been quite a casual look a dressy one.

On my face I have:

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Soap & Glory one Heck of a Blot
Maxfactor Blush in Natural Glow

On my eyes:

Eyebrows: Revolution Eyebrow Kit (Dark Shade)
Naked 3 Palette using a mixture of, Buzz, Mugshot and Liar
L'Oreal SuperLiner in Black
MaxFactor Clump Defy Mascara in Black
Revolution black Kohl liner

On my Lips:

MAC Candy YumYum

Have you bought the Naked 3 yet?
What do you think?
Let me know if there's anything you'd like a review on!

OOTD: Weekly Work Wear | 5-15 Jan

Hello everyone!

Today I'm showing you another week in work wear post. I used to write these way back in September when I first started my job, see herehere and here, but since I moved house I didn't really have anywhere to take pictures so I stopped. Since Christmas though, I've been settling in my new bedroom and I've managed to collect some pictures from the last two weeks. Note that I haven't taken pictures everyday because sometimes I forgot and I didn't want to repeat outfits.

Anyway, enjoy!

So, the first day back was a teacher training day so it was casual attire - woo.

I wore:

Jeans - H&M
Jumper - River Island
Scarf - Wearhouse
Boots - Coolway

In the second picture I have on:

Blazer - Dorothy Perkins
Pants - Primark skinny work pants.
Top - New Look
Shoes - London Rebel

Third picture:

Blazer - Forever 21
Top - New Look
Pants - H&M
Shoes - London Rebel

Fourth picture:

Top - Primark
Pants - Primark
Shoes - London Rebel
Watch - Oasis

Fifth picture:

Top - Pull & Bear
Pants - Primark
Shoes - London Rebel

Sixth picture:

Top - Primark
Pants - Primark
Shoes - London Rebel
Scarf - Sainsbury's

I really liked my hair platted to the side in the fourth picture and I didn't realise until I started writing this. Need to wear it like that more often!

What do you think?
Which is your favourite outfit?

Thoughts of the day
  • I need to buy warmer shoes for work that I can wear with pants. My feet freeze in the morning and they aren't the kind of pants I can wear with boots. Suggestions?
  • I finished watching season 2 of Bates Motel ready for season 3 to start in March! Anyone seen it?
  • Only just recovered from my Liverpool trip last weekend. I've been tired all week and I slept until 10:30 today without waking up once. So lazy.

Birthday Weekend | Photo diary

Hello everyone!

This is a bit of a random post but I just wanted to share a few pictures from my birthday weekend. They're not excellent quality and I'm not going to lie... they're mostly alcohol related. Enjoy nonetheless!

Friday night my friends from work and I went to a new Frankie & Benny's which opened near where I live. One drink lead to another and we ended up on a night out.

Whilst deciding where we were going we made our own fancy cocktails (pretty much just put Smirnoff ice and wine in fancy glasses) but I was pretty impressed with how Pinterest worthy they look.

Despite an absolute struggle I managed to get up and make my 11:11 train to Liverpool. Look how cool the wrapping paper is that my friends got me... it's got dinosaurs on it!

After a Weatherspoons dinner I felt miles better. How gorgeous are the chips from there? Mmm Mm.

The hotel we stayed in is called 30 James Street and I can not recommend it enough. It was the only place I could find that allowed more than 3 adults to stay in one room, it was the cheapest and it was the most beautiful. I think it cost £126 for the night which between 4 of us was not bad at all.

The hotel is Titanic themed and sported awesome decorations and features such as this jacuzzi.

This was one of the first drinks of the night. It came in a test tube and tasted gorgeous... what more can you ask for?

After that the pictures get 10x more embarrassing and no one needs to see that ;)

What I got for my 22nd birthday!

Hello everyone!

Today I thought I'd show you the prezzies I received for my birthday. I've been sooo busy with being back at work and going to Liverpool over the weekend that I've only just got round to taking pictures!

The first thing I got off my Mum is this blazer. It's from Forever 21 and I absolutely love it. It's a boyfriend style rather than tailored, similar to my burgundy one I showed you in this haul post. I get loads of wear out of this kind of jacket because I wear them for work and everyday life.

I also got this leopard print over sized jumper, also from Forever 21. I wore this on the weekend with some leggings Mum bought me to go with it. It's a really nice length and is toasty warm :)

Last from my Mum is this Selfridges voucher. I was going to spend it in Liverpool until I realised there isn't a Selfridges in Liverpool ... whoops. There's a huge £56 worth of monies on this bad boy... can't wait to buy me some makeup!

My friends always buy me really thoughtful gifts and they always club together and buy me something as a team. It's so cute.

This year, they bought me another Pandora charm for my bracelet, it's a peacock which they chose because it's unusual and green is my favourite colour. I love it!

They also bought me this Estee Lauder gift set which I have just broken into and painted my nails with Lowe Bite.

I'm really looking forward to using my first ever Estee lippy and reviewing it for you all!

I had such a brilliant birthday this year (perhaps the best so far...) and I'm so grateful to everyone who bought me a gift, a card or even wished me a happy birthday!

See you all next time,

Face of the Day

Hello everyone!

On one of my last days off before going back to work, my sister and I went shopping and I got up bright and early so that I could play with some makeup. I used a few new bits and pieces and I was really happy with the way it turned out!

On my face I used:

MaxFactor Lasting Perfection Foundation. I thought I'd give my skin a break from the Doublewear. This foundation actually lasted well throughout the day however once you're used to the coverage of Doublewear, nothing feels quite the same.

Soap & Glory's One Heck of a Blot. Excellent powder, bit on the pricy side.

No.7 Pop & Glow Blush in Rose Blossom. Really lovely baby pink blush, you can build it up to a heavier colour if you'd like and it blends well.

On my eyes I used:

ILAH Brow Powder Kit. I've used this stuff for many moons and I love it. I used the Revolution Brow Kit for some time but I seem to have lost it. I need to get another one of those because it was really great.

MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. This works well both on it's own or as a base... love it!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I used, Verve all over my lid, Busted in my crease and blended out with some YDK. I used the white colour from the eyebrow kit as my highlight.

L'Oreal Superliner. A favourite of mine for many years. I need to practice my liner as I haven't worn it for ages.

MaxFactor Clump Defy Mascara. I hated this for a long time because of the lack of volume it gave my lashes but I've been persevering just to finish it off and it has grown on me! You can build it up to create some volume whilst still separating your lashes.

On my lips I used:

Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Crayon. I used the shade Fuchsia Desire which is a bright pink with blue undertones, it actually looks a bit purple on me in some lights. Love this range of lip products!

That's everything I wore! I really enjoyed playing with some new and rediscovered makeup, I must make time to do more of that. I'm considering doing a Taylor Swift Black Space makeup look if anyone would be interested in that? Let me know!

See you next time,

You're not 21 forever...

Hello everyone!

It's that time of year again... my birthday! Today I've reached 22, I can't actually believe it, I still feel about 14. Got to wait until I'm 40 now until my next 'big' birthday and I'm not eager for that to come round in a hurry.

I think the 20s age group is such a strange age to be. Especially when you've left university and suddenly the world expects you to start growing up and making something of yourself. It's a competitive and difficult time in life when, really, they should be your best years. All your friends are doing different things, some of you have better jobs/earning more than others, some of you still don't know where you want to be in life (i.e. me) some are getting married. Everyone wants to be the best and have the best things. It's such a challenge.

I didn't do much with my year of being 21. Probably my most important achievement was graduating from university. This year, I want to do more things that people should be doing in their 20s. I have a job that allows me to have plenty of holidays and weekends, I have no commitments, so I have made the executive decision to make the most of the freedom, do more stuff, have fun and stop taking things too seriously.

Unfortunately, I'm in work on my birthday (I know, I agree, everyone should have the right to a day off on their bday) but to be honest, it's a Wednesday, not the most exciting day of the week anyway. However, this weekend my friends and I are going to Liverpool for shopping, cocktails, vodka etc. and I'm soo excited, it'll be nice to spend a few days with them and catch up. Also, our hotel room has a jacuzzi... how posh are we?

Sorry for the ramble ramble post but I didn't want to just upload a product review and allow my birthday no blog air time ;)

Hope you're all having a wonderful week, if it's your first one back after Christmas I hope you're surviving!

See you all next time,

Lush | Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb

Hello everyone!

This post has been chilling in my drafts since 2014. Hahaha. No it has been there a while and I'm only just getting around to reviewing it, I ended up deleting about 50 drafts because I knew I was never going to write them. Feel like I've had a spring clean.

Please excuse the black and white-ness of the pictures below, we have a green bath and well, ya know, it's green so the pics weren't great in colour.

This is the Tisty Tosty bath bomb from Lush which I bought for it's irresistible talk scent. It costs £3.35 and I think I would buy it again. Lush says it has floral, rose and lemon scents in it but all I can describe it as is talk. It has seven rose buds in it which rise to the top of the water and float around, it's a really pretty and luxurious treat.

I'd recommend this product to someone who has trouble sleeping because after a 15minute-ish long bath I was ready for sleep and it was about 6pm. It really makes you feel relaxed, slightly lethargic and content. If I buy this one again I'll hold off and have a late bath so I'm not slothing about the house all evening.

As a bath bomb, it fizzes when you put it in the water and dissolves a lot easier than the Candy Mountain bath melt I tried last time. Once it's fully dissolved your water does turn clear again and it doesn't leave any bubbles. Unless you have a less deep bath then it might stay a white colour...

I'm looking forward to trying my lemony bath ballistic next because that just smells gorgeous!

What's your favourite Lush bath bomb?
Are there any you'd like me to review?

See you next time,
