Dorothy Perkins and New Look Sale

Good evening! After work today I marched myself to the shops to peruse the sales. I picked up a few goodies so I thought I'd show you tonight so that you can also treat yourself before the sales end. Everything I bought is top-half-of-the-body related and I shall include links where I can.

Enjoy!

From Dorothy Perkins I found two cami tops, both were £6 each.  The link to the floral top is here, but I can't find one for the birdcage top unfortunately. They're made of nice quality material, they feel like they'll wash really well and they both have decorative gems on the front.

This next top is the most expensive of the bunch. It cost me £10 link here. It's a summery, boho-style top with little iridescent sequins sewn in randomly which you can't see from the picture. It's very pretty. It's made of lose, thin and fluttery material, perfect for the hot weather.

This next blouse I can't find a link for but you might be able to find it in store. This cost £7. I like the crisp, white look of this top, it needs ironing first but I think this will be a much worn piece in the future.

This next piece is just a basic white t-shirt but I really liked the black detail around the collar and sleeves. It cost £7 and you can see it online here. It's made of very light-weight material so you could definitely get away with it in the summer, I'm going on a school trip with work tomorrow to Blackpool so I think I might wear it for that :)

Moving on now to New Look I bought a few new tops with work in mind. I've only got 2 weeks and 4 days left but it gets really hot so I needed to buy some light weight tops to see me though.

First up is this white embroidered tank top. This was £7 and you can see the link here.

This I picked up this pink paisley print top for £6. It's called 'blue' online but it's definitely more pink if you ask me. You can see it here.

I have a similar top to this but the detail around the neck line is blue so I knew I'd like this orange version. It cost £7 and you can view it online here. It definitely needs a good iron but once it has been it'll be all fluttery and pretty... I hope!

Next is this aztec t-shirt. I have a few different variations of this top so when I see a pattern I don't have I usually pick it up because I get so much wear out of them. It's just a cotton, simple cut top that you can throw on with anything and it'll always look good! This cost £7 and you can see it here.

Last but not least (for t-shirts) is this blue bardot style top, similar to the pink one above just a different colour. It was also £6 and you can see it here.

Finally, I picked up one accessory which is this blue headband. It has wire inside so you can shape it how you like. It was only £2 so I thought it would be nice to experiment with and if I don't like it, it hasn't broken the bank! You can see it online here.

And that is everything I picked up in the sales! I tried to keep this as short as possible as I know that long winded posts can be tedious!

Let me know if you've bought anything nice in the sales :)

See you next time,

Casual OOTD

Don't you just love when an outfit pulls together well? I went for a meal with my friends on Friday night and I threw on some jeans and a top and I loved the look! I think I wear my work clothes too often so when I have the chance to wear something else it's a nice change!

Anyway, I picked up the top in the Debenhans sale around Easter and this is the first time I've worn it. It's a purple cami with a sheer top over it. It has kaleidoscope patterns in different shades of blue and purple and some shiny gems to add a little sparkle.

The jeans are grey, super skinny and high waisted. They're awesome. H&M's finest and I think they cost about £15!

Now the shoes I just love. I picked them up from TKMaxx a couple of weeks ago because I thought they would match everything in the summer. Turns out they matched this fairly non-summery outfit too. (It was peeing it down). The picture isn't very clear but they look like they're made of tiny strips of criss cross brown leather. They are very pretty :)

I paired this outfit with a thick knit light brown cardigan I bought from SheInside (I'll have a haul for you soon) and my green handbag.

With any luck we'll start having some warm weather so that I can show some summery outfits!

Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday!
See you next time,

Random Saturday Morning Boots Haul

I woke up this morning and got the urge to write a blog post. So I'm sat in bed in my PJs, putting music on my new phone and drinking coffee whilst writing this little impromptu Boots haul and it's just glorious!

I went to Frankie & Bennies last night with some friends (not my favourite place, but the only decent restaurant we have locally) and whilst I waited for them I went in boots for deodorant and came out clutching a bag of goodies!

Everything I bought is either pink or purple so I must have been feeling a bit summery haha. They had lots of offers on throughout the store and the first things I picked up are from Revlon. These are the ColorStay Ultimate Suede lipsticks which were on 2 for £10, they're usually £8.99 each so that's a pretty good deal. I got the shades 073 (dark pink) and 070 (mauve pink). They do have names but they're printed too small for my eyes to see!

Then Barry M had an offer where if you spent £6 on their cosmetics/nail polishes you got a Hi Shine Nail paint for free. So I picked up 3 polishes because as we all know... I'm going for the whole collection! I bought the colours Grapefruit, Sugar Plumb and Pink Punch. I love these nail polishes and I can't wait to try them out.

Finally, I bought hair treats. I have bleach highlights in my hair every 4 or so months just to brighten it a bit but it gets weighed down with dirt, dry shampoo and grease so quickly which dulls down the colour. So I bought the Boots Build up Removal Shampoo which was £3.49 to see if that helps my hair stay cleaner.

Then I bought the Touch of Silver Shampoo and Conditioner because I keep seeing adverts about it and I'm intrigued. These were £3.19 each but I think they were on Buy one Get one free.

Thus concludes this Saturday morning haul...
I hope you enjoyed reading and for once you should still be able to take advantage of all the offers because it's not two weeks delayed hahaha.

See you next time,

Home Renovation | Bathroom Pt.2

The last post you saw from me was the first part of my bathroom renovation; a month ago. I am actually stunned at myself, it doesn't feel like a month since I last blogged. I do come bearing excuses though, two words: Grey's Anatomy. I'm kind of obsessed. One of the students at school told me I needed to watch it, it sounded appealing to me, so I did and now I'm on season 4 of 11.

I've been able to use the bathroom now for about two weeks and so far I really love it. I'm going to write a 'tour' post with all fancy pictures from my fancy camera. But for today, here is part two of the renovation, enjoy!

After we had painted all the walls white I chose some flooring. As it's a tiny room I only needed one pack of floor which meant that I could pick a pricier kind. B&Q didn't have a brilliant range of bathroom floors but I settled on this light grey / off white tile lock. It was £37 a pack which gave you just under 2m of flooring.

Then we fitted the toilet and macerator on top of the floor. We bought a Uniflo macerator which you can see here. The online reviews said that this brand is just as good as Saniflo and comes at half the price. So far it's doing a good job but we did have to make an insulated box to go around it because of the noise it makes.

We bought the toilet from B&Q for £50 however, I know that you can buy the same one at Wickes also for £50 but all the bits in the water tank are already plumbed in for you. Don't be fooled by decent price tag though because the seat they provide sucks so it cost another £20 for a loo seat.

Then I got me some country-style cupboard doors. These are actually so dear for what they are. The two 500mm doors were £27 each and the 600mm door was £32. Daylight robbery for a plank of wood! Anyway, they were the nicest white doors I could find and I'm really happy with how they look.

My Dad conveniently had 3 handles left over from some bi-folding doors downstairs which matched nicely with everything else so I stole them for my cupboards.

We added a row of tiles behind the sink just incase any water splashes back. It also makes it look tidier and more 'finished'.

I have loved and lusted over these waterfall taps forever but they are so dear. B&Q literally sell them for £200 and there wasn't a chance I could afford that on a tap. So I found a far cheaper alternative on eBay for £26! It comes with all the fixtures and fittings and works brilliantly. I used this seller if you'd like to look yourself.

By this time, everything we could do before tiling the shower was done but my Dad didn't want to tile until he knew everything worked incase he had to take the shower out again.

Guess what?

It leaked! So out it all came and we had to fit a new pipe from the shower trap to the macerator. the problem was that there were too many joins in the flexible pipe we originally used. So we replaced it with a normal pipe and it was completely fine after that.

It really did feel like we were taking steps backwards though.

Finally we could tile the shower. I thought I picked dark grey tiles but it turned out they were black. I was nervous that it was too dark for a shower but once it was grouted it looked really sleek and modern.

For the roof of the shower I bought a sheet of white acrylic from a website called Plastic Sheets. It cost £30 for a 700mm by 900mm sheet. The delivery was also £10 which I thought was a rip off as it took them over a week to deliver it.

There was no way around it though, we needed something waterproof and this was the best idea.

We bought a Triton mixer shower for around £60 which was a steal. I think the chrome, black and white colours look so good together!

To get a shower door made to measure, you're looking at about £400, no kidding. I only needed a tiny little door, maybe with an angle and I could find nothing. Until I saw some bath/shower screens on eBay that were as cheap as chips and would do the job perfectly. This is the seller I used, it cost me less than £50 and finished the shower off nicely.

The only thing left to do was take some pictures and add some bathroom furnishings. Below are some pictures of it finished but I will post a tour and haul soon!

Thanks for reading,
Leanne :)
