Rustic Autumn Wreath

As you know, I love Autumn. I actually love all the seasons but something about Autumn just excites me! October (aka my favourite month) is fast approaching so I've been searching the shelves of TKmaxx for cute little decorations. I've started a little Halloween/Autumn display on my landing which I'll show you in the coming weeks when I've added all my Halloween bits.

Today though, I'm gonna kick things off with my DIYish Autumn Wreath!

TKMaxx had an array of gorgeous wreaths ranging anywhere between £10-£30. The majority of them were around £25.99 which I didn't really want to pay. They did have lovely decorations on them though like pumpkins and dried fruit. I found the leafy wreath above for £10 which I was so pleased with as it was pretty on its own with just the berries and acorns.

To make it all the more cuter I bought 3 little woodland creatures. An owl, raccoon and a fox (I think).

I stuck them on the wreath with PVA. It took a lot of glue for them to stick but I think I've disguised it well.

Once the animals had dried, I wrapped these fairy lights around it, hiding the wires amongst the leaves. These came from eBay for about £2.99 and I think the warm light adds to the Autumn effect nicely.

It's quite heavy so I used a large nail to hook it on the door and blue tack to stick the battery pack on behind the wreath.

I'm hoping to replace this with a wintery Christmas wreath in December! I can't wait!

Let me know in the comments what you think :)

Hope you enjoyed reading!
See you next time,

Thoughts of the day

  • Now I'm off to watch The X Factor! I'm not looking forward to the 6 chair challenge... they always send good people home! Who's your favourite so far?
  • I love this time of year because all my programmes start again. Like The Originals and TVD!
  • 4 weeks to go until half term... this is the longest stint of the school year and by heck it's dragging :(
  • I spent this afternoon scraping wallpaper off the living room wall with an old credit card. This is now my life! Still haven't shown you the new bathroom... I shall do that soon :)

  1. I've been looking at those wreaths too, I love them but like you say they're quite expensive! This is really cute though, and you wouldn't know it was homemade!
