A beauty haul!

Hello everyone!

Over the last week or so I've indulged in a few new beauty products, I was in the mood for trying out some new things and everyone needs a treat now and then don't they? :)

If you saw my wish list post I did pick up a few things off that, if you haven't seen it you can do HERE, I still have to collect a few more things i.e. the OCC Lip Tar (I haven't been to Selfridges yet) and I bought a few things that weren't on it at all. So here goes!

First, I bought some Barry M Nail Gellys, they were on 3 for 2 in Superdrug and I've been wanting to try them for a while. I picked up the shades 'Lychee', 'Papaya' and 'Greenberry', I think all three colours go together really well, I've only tried the beige and orange colours and I think they're really pretty.

Although I like these nail varnishes, I love the colours, the high shine finish and I think they're reasonably priced the only annoyance is the staying power. They don't seem to last very long on my nails, I've found that they chip almost the next day which isn't great, is it?

Having said that, I won't stop using them, I'll probably try them with a top coat and see if that helps. I have to also mention that they dry pretty quickly, I love nail varnishes that dry quickly!

Price: £3.99 (2 for 3 at Superdrug)

Next, also from Superdrug, I finally got my hands on Sleek's Matte Me lip cream in Brink Pink. I looked in all my local Superdrugs and this range of lip product was not to be found. I finally managed to find it at the Trafford Centre Superdrug. I was very happy to say the least!

I was mostly just drawn to the colour more than anything, I didn't really think about the matte effect or anything and after trying it a few times I definitely think it's mattifying but it still remains pretty sticky. It's a weird one.  I still like it nonetheless and the colour is beautiful!

Price: £4.99

Whilst in Superdrug, I did pick up a few things from my wish list as the 2 for £10 at Maybelline was still happening. Also, Tom was kind enough to treat me to a few bits and pieces (isn't he wonderful?!) so I bought the new Dream Fresh BB Cream which I haven't properly tried yet but I will let you all know how I get on with it in the future.

Price: £7.99

The other thing from Maybelline is the Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer (what a mouthful that is!) I have used this and so far I like it. It doesn't have brilliant coverage for blemishes in my experience but I've found that it's great under the eyes as it's quite yellow toned so it cancels out dark circles really well.

Price: £6.99

MaxFactor! When MaxFactor bring something new out, I have to have it! I don't know what it is I just really love their products. My skin takes well to everything and I've just never been disappointed with the brand so when I discovered they had a new foundation out I was pleased as punch!

I haven't yet tried it, don't worry there will be a post on it soon, but at first glance it kind of reminded me of the Colour Adapt foundation. I don't know whether it's even still available but that seemed to have a thick, creamy 'whipped' feel about it.

Anyway, I'm excited about trying this, has anyone else tried it yet? What are your thoughts on it?

Price: £7.99 (RRP £9.99)

I picked up another Colour Tattoo! I'm in love with these at the moment. I just wish they had more everyday wearable colours and maybe some mattes but perhaps they'll be coming in the future?

'Eternal Gold' it such a beautiful colour! I bought it with something in mind that I have coming up soon but I've found myself wearing it almost everyday. Sometimes you just can't be bothered with eyeshadow, can you? But this takes seconds to just pat on your eyes and it's done. I love it.

Price: £4.99

Whilst in Boots paying for the one little colour tattoo I was given a coupon for some No.7 Foundation samples so over I innocently went to the No.7 counter on my way out simply expecting a few samples to try at home. Oh no. No.7 had other ideas. Before I knew it I was sat on the bloody makeup chair and someone was whipping my makeup off with a wet wipe. I only wanted some samples not a makeover!

Anyway, I left Boots the proud owner of the No.7 Stay Perfect Foundation and a Blush in Coral Flush. To be honest, I'd had my eye on the foundation for a while anyway and at buy one get one half price and a £3 off voucher I suppose it could've been worse.

Whilst I was there I had the colour match thing done too! I knew I'd be matched to the palest shade but, you know, it was fun. I do really like the foundation, it's very long wearing and stays matte for a reasonable length of time and the blush is so pretty and I was also looking for a new one of those so all's well that ends well!

Foundation:
Price: £14.00

Blush:
Price: £8.00

Last but not least, an Avon bargain. If you get an Avon brochure through your door, have a look in the little clearance one because you can get some pretty good deals, I'm tellin' ya. One of which is this Planet Spa Chinese Ginseng Revitalising Face Mask. I've used it many a time over the last few weeks and I love love love it! It's very thick as you apply it and it sets like glue then you get to peel it off! So exciting!

As far as the effects it has, I find that it leaves my skin very smooth and it seems to minimise the size of my pours too although I'm not sure whether it's supposed to do that. It's very gentle on the skin, I can leave it on for as long as I want and it doesn't irritate me at all.

Price: £1.99 (About £7.00 RRP)

So I can't really see myself picking up any new foundations in the near future...
Hope you enjoyed reading this, I'll have full reviews coming soon on most products!

P.s.
Do you like my new Header and Side Bar Buttons? They took me all day and vast amounts of effort haha!

I was browsing the NUS Website the other morning and discovered that Superdrug offer a student discount? Has anyone used their student card in Superdrug? I'm too scared to try incase I'm wrong. I can't believe I haven't known the past 2 years of having a student card.

I'm currently making my way through season 3 of the Vampire Diaries again (I think it's my favourite season!) as I finished Season 4. I'm working on recreating Rebekah Mikaelson's makeup in the scene where she's telling Elena the story of her family, she's so pretty in that scene. Everyone in the Vampire Diaries is pretty haha. But Rebekah's one of my favourite characters so I think it's has to be done! Let me know if that's something you'd like to see! :)

    1. Thank you! The BB Cream is actually very nice, I wasn't expecting much from it but I found that it had a nice finish and a decent amount of coverage for a BB cream. The only other BB cream I've tried is a Rimmel one which was terrible, this one is much better. The only issue I have is that it's a little dark for my skin but other than that I haven't had any problems with it :)
