Everyday Makeup Brushes!

Hello everyone!

As it's quite a common thing here in the blogging world to show people what makeup you use on an everyday basis I thought I'd write a post on the brushes I use on an everyday basis. Something a little different. I don't own a vast amount of makeup brushes so the ones I do have get used very often and I like them a lot!

(I've applied links where possible but a lot of these items I can't find the links for, sorry!)

The most recent addition to my brush collection is this Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I use it to apply my foundation and I love it!. I used to just apply foundation with my fingers (which I would still rather do than use one of the flat foundation brushes) but this gives me such a flawless finish I can't fault it at all.

I've been using it for a few months now and I can safely say that it doesn't shed any hair it stays in shape and it washes brilliantly. To say I was a bit dubious about using a foundation brush I've taken to this one really well, I'd definitely recommend it!

REAL TECHNIQUES EXPERT FACE BRUSH

I use this Avon brush to apply a bit of Powder over my foundation and concealer. I don't use a brush for concealer at the moment, I just pat in it with my finger which works fine for me. I don't really know how this brush came to be in my possession I seem to have always had it. Therefore, I don't think it's available anymore but Avon have a great range of affordable brushes and I'm sure there will be something similar.

I think this is a great powder brush because it's big enough to quickly sweep over your face, it doesn't cake on the powder and make you look too...powdery. The bristles on mine are getting a little worse for wear now and I am in need of a new one really but as I said I've had this for years and if I'm honest it'll probably still be with me for a few more.

Something similar and is on offer for £5.00

I have another Avon brush here which is a lot newer than the previous. I bought it on offer for about £4.00 which is a great deal as it's such a lovely brush. It's tapered and I believe it's actually meant for contouring but I use it for blusher. It's nice and dense so it doesn't bend too easily yet it's still nice and soft on the skin.

(It's been discontinued on the Avon website but I've found and eBay seller which I've linked above)
Above is a link to reviews of this brush on the Avon website.

The eyebrow brush I use is from Boots, I bought it a few years ago and it's faired well. I think it was about £5 but I can't live without one of these, my eyebrows are so unruly sometimes. There's not much else I can say about this brush except I like it. The eyelash side of it isn't great though because the ends are really thick so how that is supposed to unclump lashes I do not know.

Next, I use this small angled brush to apply my eyebrow powder. This came in a set I was given at Christmas and I really like it. I don't think I'd go back to using an eyebrow pencil again now because powder fills out your brows so much better, in my experience anyway! This brush is great, it's nice and sturdy and the bristles haven't flared out at the end which is great. The only thing is it's by a brand called ILAH and I'm not sure where that can be bought.

The last brush I have is this Urban Decay shadow brush. It's the one from the Naked palette and I really like it. I also get a lot of use out of the double ended one from Naked 2 as I really like the blending side. This is a great brush you can tell its really high quality when you're using it which I like. I'm not sure whether you can buy these individually but if you have the Naked palettes make sure you don't forget about the brushes!

    1. Thanks :) I find it nice and soft yes but I've been using it for years so that may have softened it up a bit more. The angled brush is a lot newer though and that one isn't scratchy at all. I hope you have better luck with any other Avon brushes you buy :) x
